Faithful in the Waiting

by Reverend Danny Rhoades

Scripture: Psalm 27:14 (KJV)
“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”

Waiting can feel like wasted time. We often want answers quickly, doors to open immediately, and prayers to be fulfilled in ways we can see and understand. But God does some of His deepest work in seasons where nothing appears to be moving.

David reminds us that waiting on the Lord is not passive weakness—it is courageous trust. To wait on God is to believe that His timing is wiser than our urgency and His plan is better than our pressure to rush ahead.

Your waiting season may feel quiet, hidden, or uncertain, but it is not empty. God is strengthening your heart, shaping your faith, and teaching you to depend on Him more fully. What feels like delay may actually be preparation.

Do not lose courage because the answer has not yet come. The Lord is faithful in the waiting. He has not forgotten you, and He is not late. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep your heart anchored in Him.

Prayer:
Father, help me to trust You in seasons of waiting. Strengthen my heart when I feel discouraged or impatient. Teach me to rest in Your timing and believe that You are working even when I cannot see it. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection Question:
Where in your life is God asking you to wait with courage and trust?
