Strength for the Next Step

Scripture: Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

“There are seasons when the road ahead feels longer than the strength within us. We may not be facing a mountain all at once, but even the next step can feel heavy when our hearts are tired.

God does not always give us the full picture before He calls us forward. Often, He gives strength for the step in front of us. Isaiah reminds us that those who wait upon the Lord are not abandoned in their weakness—they are renewed by His power.

Waiting on the Lord does not mean doing nothing. It means leaning on Him while we keep walking. It means trusting His timing, resting in His presence, and believing that the strength we lack can be supplied by the One who never grows weary.

You may not feel ready for the whole journey today, but God is faithful to meet you in this moment. Ask Him for grace for the next step, peace for the present hour, and courage to keep moving with your eyes fixed on Him.

Do not measure your future by your current weariness. The Lord renews strength. He lifts the weary, steadies the weak, and carries His children farther than they thought they could go.

Prayer:
Father, when I feel tired and uncertain, renew my strength in You. Help me not to run ahead in fear or fall behind in discouragement. Give me grace for the next step and faith to trust You for the journey ahead. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reflection Question:
What next step is God asking you to take while trusting Him for renewed strength?
