The God Who Goes Before You

Scripture: Deuteronomy 31:8 (KJV)
“And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
But Moses reminded Joshua of a powerful truth: the Lord goes before His people. Joshua was stepping into leadership, battle, and responsibility, yet he would not step into any place where God had not already gone.
The same promise gives strength to us today. God is not merely walking behind us to clean up what goes wrong; He is going before us to prepare the way. He sees what we cannot see, knows what we do not know, and holds tomorrow before we ever arrive there.
This does not mean every path will be easy. It means no path will be faced alone. The Lord’s presence is greater than our uncertainty, and His faithfulness is stronger than our fear.
Do not let the unknown convince you that you are unprotected. The God who goes before you will also be with you. He will not fail you, He will not forsake you, and He will give courage for every step ahead.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for going before me into every season and every situation. When I feel afraid of what is ahead, remind me that You are already there. Help me to trust Your presence, rest in Your faithfulness, and walk forward with courage. In Jesus’ name, amen.
