The Lord Is My Portion

Scripture: “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.” — Lamentations 3:24
Devotional: Life can leave us feeling stretched thin, worn down, or unsure of where to turn. We look for strength in people, comfort in things, or security in plans — but none of them truly fill the empty places of the heart. God reminds us of a deeper truth: He Himself is our portion. Not just His blessings, not just His help — Him.
When the Lord is your portion, you are never lacking. His mercy meets you every morning. His faithfulness steadies you throughout the day. His presence comforts you at night. Everything you truly need — strength, peace, hope, direction — is found in Him.
To declare “The Lord is my portion” is to say: He is enough. He is present. He is mine, and I am His.
Let your soul rest in that truth today.
Reflection: Lord, help me remember that You alone are my portion. Teach me to stop chasing what cannot satisfy and to rest in the fullness of who You are.
Prayer: Father, thank You for being my portion and my hope. Fill my heart with Your peace and teach me to trust Your faithfulness in every season. Amen.
